Our Little Suns

Our apricot Toy Poodles have been a separate breeding line for around twelve years. We had a few apricots before that, but it was then that we decided these little rays of sunshine deserved a very special place in our kennel.

The first funny story? We bought our very first apricots because we were convinced they were red. Well... at least that was what we had been told. As time went by, we discovered they were beautiful apricots instead. Since then, we have learned that when it comes to Poodle colours, surprises are simply part of the adventure.

Officially, this colour is called apricot, and in some countries even lion. Honestly, we have never really understood the comparison. A lion's coat is more of a cool, sandy colour. Our dogs are the exact opposite: warm, golden and glowing. To us, they will always be little suns with four paws.

It is no coincidence that apricot is one of the favourite colours among Asian-style groomers. With their warm golden coats and the right haircut, they look like real living teddy bears.
